Y.A.L.E. School NJ Mullica Township Campus
Y.A.L.E. School’s Mullica Township campus, located in Elwood near the White Horse Pike and Atlantic City Expressway, serves students 3 to 14 years old with autism spectrum disorders.
The program provides full-day educational programming, and instruction is based on the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), an evidence-based treatment shown by research to be highly effective.
The Mullica Township campus operates within a public elementary school, giving students the opportunity to receive highly specialized services in a setting that also offers interactions with typical peers. To improve student outcomes, every goal in a student’s IEP is measured objectively and frequently. Changes to each student’s instruction and services are based on data trends, clinical conferences, parent conferences, and IEP requirements.
The Mullica Township campus offers:
- Low student-to-staff ratio

- Curriculum focused on academics, life skills, functional communication, fine and gross motor skills, adaptive behaviors, and greater independence

Y.A.L.E. School NJ Mullica Township Team Leaders:
Rachael Sautter, Ph.D., BCBA-D – Director of Educational Services for Y.A.L.E. School’s Autism Program
Dr. Sautter has been with the Y.A.L.E. School since 2007. She earned her Ph.D. in applied behavior analysis from Western Michigan University and is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA-D). Dr. Sautter has conducted several research studies and her work has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals and books. With more than 12 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, Dr. Sautter has worked as a behavioral therapist for children with a diagnosis of autism both at home and in public school settings. Dr. Sautter has also taught at Western Michigan University and served as a practicum supervisor for graduate and undergraduate students completing behavior analytic fieldwork.
Barry Walker, B.A. – Campus Supervisor
Barry joined the staff at Y.A.L.E. School’s Northfield campus in 2000, where he worked with students with social and behavioral difficulties for more than a decade. He was instrumental in establishing the Standard 9: Linwood Tier. In 2012, he moved to the Mullica campus’s school-within-a-school program serving students on the autism spectrum. Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Stockton College and has studied special education at Rowan University. A career educator, Barry has found his passion working with students on the autism spectrum.
