Y.A.L.E. transition programs prepare students to know what to expect and how to succeed in adult environments.
Program options align with a student’s goals and aspirations, and parents have the support they need to navigate the shift from the school years to adult services in the years ahead.
All Y.A.L.E. School transition programs feature:
Engaging instruction, with real-world opportunities to prepare for adult roles and responsibilities
Comprehensive curriculum and thorough transition assessments that address learning gaps and reinforce key skills needed for financial literacy, work readiness, and adult living
Work-based learning experiences for resume experience and exposure to various job sectors
Community-based instruction in natural settings to build confidence and independence
Opportunities for leadership and collaboration in work settings and student-managed enterprises
Social skills classes led by licensed counselors in the Standard 9 and CLiKS programs, which equip students with social communication and relationship skills
Ongoing training workshops for parents to help families become active partners in the preparation process
Program options ensure that students make progress toward their high school graduation goals at the level that is right for them based on their academic and functional abilities.
Y.A.L.E. School transition programs serve students ages 18-21 placed by their school districts, including those in Southern and Central New Jersey, Delaware, and Philadelphia and its surrounding counties.
We encourage school districts to contact the Y.A.L.E. admissions office to arrange a conversation, tour, or virtual meeting that includes the case manager, parents, and a Y.A.L.E. transition team member.
