Why We Can’t Wait for Summer to End

Another Chance to Provide Education for Today, Success for Life

To our students and their families:

As summer draws to an end, our educators are often asked that age-old question, “Are you ready for the new school year?” And the answer is yes!

Y.A.L.E. School staff, from our teachers and administrative staff to security, from BCBAs and Teaching Assistants to campus leaders, don’t see the dwindling days of summer as daunting, but rather as a time of excitement and possibility for an amazing school year ahead. As we return to Y.A.L.E.’s campuses for training and planning, we know exactly WHY we are here: We are eager for another chance to teach and grow the minds of children with disabilities.

Our role as educators extends beyond instruction: We are guides, leading students toward a brighter future for themselves and their families. Each day, we have the privilege to not just help students learn academically, but develop socially, and behaviorally, too, so that one day, they are prepared to graduate and lead independent, and full lives. We share this mission as a staff, and with the parents and guardians of our students. Our combined efforts are never focused solely on the present; we are always thinking about how we are shaping our students’ futures.

For all of us at Y.A.L.E. School, special education isn’t just a profession; it’s a calling. The moment students step into our classrooms, we feel excited to be presenting a world of possibilities and opportunities to them. While the work we do may have its challenges, it’s equally rewarding. Each milestone reached, and every bit of progress our students achieve remind us that we are incredibly fortunate to be part of their lives and making a difference.

As we ready our classrooms and decorate our hallway bulletin boards, know that we are already thinking of you, our students and families, and looking forward to the start of an amazing year ahead. See you soon!
