Dear Parents,

The Y.A.L.E. School transition team has been receiving a number of inquiries and questions from parents and guardians of our older students regarding NJ Senate Bill 3434. This bill would extend eligibility for students aging-out at age 21 this June, as well as those aging out in 2022. While we are aware that the bill is making its way through the legislative process, we do not have any further information to assist you.

We realize that families are especially eager for updates that may impact transition planning. In this regard, your young adult’s case manager from your sending district will be best able to guide you. Should the bill pass in the near future, the district representative will advise you of its specific implications for your son or daughter.

Many thanks for reaching out to us. We appreciate hearing from you!

Best regards,

The Y.A.L.E. Transition Team
