VIDEO: Medford campus Science class launches model rockets
- November 17, 2015
Rockets away! 7th graders at the Y.A.L.E. School Medford campus got a hands on experience this marking period in Science class. In conjunction with a unit on space exploration and NASA rockets, students built model rockets and launched them on campus. Proper construction was stressed to ensure a clean ignition and a straight flight pattern.
All of the the launches were a success, however, not all parachutes were operational. Students learned why using model rockets for test launches is an important method of working out issues before launching rockets with real human crew members.
